Following a devastating fire at the grade II listed property KTA were appointed to assess the stability of the remaining free-standing walls and chimney stacks to advise on a sympathetic approach to temporarily stabilise these characterful elements of the building while the damaged roof and floor elements could be removed and reinstated.

We were involved throughout the structural reinstatement project working alongside the client and heritage officer confirming which damaged elements may be retained whist providing permanent stabilisation approaches for any lightly damaged items. We assessed and recorded the fire damaged elements of the building and provided a new oak framed roof design in keeping with the age any style of the original building whilst advising on areas of the building which required modernisation to meet current building standards.

Overall, the client and the heritage officer were extremely pleased with the reinstatement of the structural frame of the building enabling the futureproofing of the building whilst maintaining the cultural heritage fabric of the structure.
